PT TOMORROW: NL West—Playing time at the keystone could open up in COL

The team’s starting second baseman, DJ LeMahieu (2B, COL), hit the DL earlier this week with a sprained thumb, marking the second time this season—the other being a hamstring issue—that the All-Star has been shelved in the season's first couple of months. LeMahieu hopes to begin swinging a bat within the next week, but an extended absence could force the team to consider other options as they try to overtake the Diamondbacks for the NL West lead.
