As LA continues gaining ground on division leader SF since the All-Star break, Clayton Kershaw’s (RHP, LA) setback in his rehabilitation from a back injury has left a gaping hole in their starting rotation. In addition, the rash of other injured starters has turned the rotation on its head. While the trade for Bud Norris (RHP, LA) and return of Brandon McCarthy (RHP, LA) have helped, there is still one open spot for the taking, with the recent demotion of rookie Julio Urías (LHP, LA).

Next up for LA could be oft-injured Jharel Cotton (RHP, LA), who has been dealing in triple-A this season (11.0 Dom, 3.1 Ctl) but who has also given up at least 4 ER in four of his last six starts. Less heralded prospect Brock Stewart...
