The Diamondbacks weren’t particularly active on the free-agent market this offseason. Instead, general manager Mike Hazen explained to the media throughout the winter that the team is instead banking on internal improvement from younger players. One of the players he specifically brought up by name was Carson Kelly (C, ARI).

The team’s apparent intent on developing their young backstop is good news for Kelly’s potential for playing time, and thus fantasy value in 2021.
