The Rockies have a lengthy history of frustrating fantasy managers with their infatuation for blocking young, potentially talented players. In recent seasons, Garrett Hampson (2B/OF, COL) and Sam Hilliard (OF, COL) top that list. However, entering the 2021 season, they appear to have the opportunity to solidify their playing time with a strong start. The path was cleared for them beginning with the offseason news that Ian Desmond (OF, COL) would be opting out for a second consecutive season and the trade of Nolan Arenado (3B, COL). The final barrier appears to have been removed due to the spring training injury suffered by Brendan Rodgers (2B, COL).

However, that doesn’t mean they’ll keep those roles indefinitely....
