A number of pitchers are moving towards a return to the Diamondbacks’ rotation, including Zac Gallen (RHP, ARI), Madison Bumgarner (LHP, ARI), and Taylor Widener (RHP, ARI). Gallen has made the most progress towards that potential return, as he’s recently thrown 32- and 45-pitch simulated games. While he’ll likely need to participate in a rehab assignment, Gallen could be on track to return by the end of the month barring a setback. Both Bumgarner and Widener have resumed throwing and could be on a similar timeline.
