The early struggles of Jedd Gyorko (2B, SD) and Will Middlebrooks (3B, SD) have created a few windows for playing time in the San Diego infield. Gyorko is hitting just .217 through his first 98 plate appearances, and a pair of home runs has been backed by just league-average power. Middlebrooks is hitting .202 with four HR thus far, though a 121 xPX says there's still some untapped power potential under the hood. Middlebrooks has quietly made some ct% strides in 2015, but they've been hidden by an unfortunate 22% h%.

Entering the season, Gyorko and Middlebrooks were both starters at second and third base, respectively, but they've lost some time recently to Yangervis Solarte (3B, SD) and Cory Spangenberg (3B, SD)....
