PT TOMORROW: NL West—Is Frias on the fritz?

Carlos Frias (RHP, LA; pictured above) is in the midst of a rough stretch, and it could cost him his spot in the starting rotation soon. Over his last seven starts, Frias has struggled with a 5.40 ERA and 1.68 WHIP, and he hasn't posted a PQS-DOMinant start since May 13. The skills have been equally poor with a 1.3 Cmd, 4.57 xERA, and 17 BPV over that time.

Brandon Beachy (RHP, LA) looms as the most likely in-house replacement should team oust Frias from the rotation. Beachy is on a rehab assignment from his second Tommy John surgery, and most recently made a two-inning appearance at AAA-Oklahoma City. Reports on Beachy have been positive, though his fastball is sitting in the high-80s thus far. He'll need to build up...
