PT TOMORROW: NL West- Rodgers readying for return

Colorado Rockies 

The Rockies have spent much of the season looking for consistency at second base after the team lost Brendan Rodgers (2B, COL) to a shoulder injury early in spring training. While it was assumed that he would be sidelined for the entire season, that no longer seems to be the case. Within the last three weeks, Rodgers has fielded grounders and begun hitting drills, with murmurs bubbling to the surface that he could be ready to retake the field at some point in August.

While Rodgers has had an underwhelming career as compared to expectations as a prospect, he will clearly be the best option at the position upon his return. To this point in the season, second base has been a carousel of mediocrity, perhaps worse, for the...
