The Diamondbacks had several potential options at third base entering the season, and none have turned out as expected. Josh Rojas (2B/3B, SEA) started the year as the everyday third baseman and even served as the leadoff hitter, but he lost playing time after struggling and was shuffled to Seattle at the trade deadline. Meanwhile, both Evan Longoria (3B, ARI) and Emmanuel Rivera (3B, ARI) have fallen flat (21 and 11 BPVs, respectively). Neither is particularly likely to be with the team again in 2024 and certainly not in a significant role.

The team should have an internal solution in place, however. While Jordan Lawlar (SS, ARI) wasn’t called up to make his debut for the conclusion of the 2023 season, he should spend...
