One year after acquiring Josh Hader (LHP, SD), the Padres could be on the verge of flipping him in the next few weeks. Entering Tuesday’s action, the team sat at 39-46, good for fourth place in the NL West and 11 games out of first place. Their seven-game deficit for a wild card spot is a bit more palatable, but their chances to make the playoffs were measured at only 24.2 percent per Fangraphs. Set to hit free agency at the close of the season, Hader is a natural trade candidate.
