Yet as we are almost a week into March, the team has the same crew that finished 2017. With Aaron Nola and Jared Eickhoff two sure things in the rotation, let’s look at the candidates for spots three through five, who each have room to seize the opportunity to take that next step up: 

Vince Velasquez (RHP, PHI) has the most electric arm on this list, but due to injuries and inefficiency, his time with the Phils has been marked by inconsistency.
