Walker Jenkins entered the 2026 season as one of the top hitting prospects in baseball, ranking 9th on our pre-season HQ100, and 6th on the mid-season HQ50. After a breakout performance at Double-A in 2025 (.309/.426/.487 over 235 PA), he finished the year at AAA-St. Paul, where he struggled enough (.242/.324/.396 over 102 PA) that it was assumed he would begin 2026 at that same level, which made sense given that he's still only 21 years old. And after he suffered a hamstring injury in spring training, it was clear that he wouldn't be making the Twins' roster right out of the gate, but it still seemed likely that we'd see him in Minneapolis before the season was over.
