PT TOMORROW: NL East—Whither Wilmer?

One of our favorite speculative UP: projections in this year's Baseball Forecaster belongs to IF Wilmer Flores. The biggest obstacle between Flores and that ".280/30 HR" upside may be playing time. To assess his PT opportunity, we need to get a handle on the Mets infield.

Assuming David Wright's seemingly-annual spring comeback attempt fails, 3B looks to be handled by Asdrubal Cabrera. Flores could be a backup option here, but concerns about his defense at the hot corner have stopped the Mets from making a larger commitment to him. Still, pending other transactions, if Cabrera were to fall to injury, Flores would seem the logical fill-in, ahead of the likes of Gavin Cecchini or T.J. Rivera.
