PT TOMORROW: NL East—Are Aybar's days at shortstop numbered?

Erick Aybar (SS, ATL) has struggled mightily, both at the plate (.187/.221/.215 in 107 AB) and in the field. There was speculation a few weeks ago that the team might try moving the 32-year-old to second base and using glove-first infielder Daniel Castro (2B/SS/3B, ATL) at shortstop, but that hasn’t yet materialized. In any event, with top prospects Ozzie Albies (SS, ATL) and Dansby Swanson (SS, ATL) rapidly ascending through the minors, Aybar could be on borrowed time.

Albies, 19, opened the year at Double-A Mississippi and was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on April 30 after amassing a .369/.442/.512 slash line with 1 HR and 2 SB in 84 AB. In his full-season debut, Albies swiped 29 bases while posting a .368 OBP in 394...
