Kolby Allard looked like a solid bet to hold a spot in the rotation when Max Fried returned but then exited Sunday's game early. The news is bad; Allard is on the 60-day injured list with shoulder nerve inflammation. This likely means that Michael Soroka's spot in the rotation is secure for now, especially with the news that Kyle Wright is unlikely to join the team until September. It also creates a starting rotation opening for the best team in baseball. The next man who will get a shot at that spot is Allan Winans, who is set to start on Saturday against Milwaukee. 

Winans is a 27-year-old righty who has thrown 102.2 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett this season, to the tune of a 2.81 ERA off a 3.75 FIP. While it's unclear how...
