As touched upon last week in this space, Trevor Rosenthal (RHP, STL) is being stretched out as a starter this spring. With Lance Lynn (RHP, STL) seemingly in good health 16 months out from his Tommy John Surgery and making his spring training debut on February 27, only the fifth slot in the rotation appears up for grabs.

Although Michael Wacha (RHP, STL) finished 2016 in the bullpen, he is the favorite for this role. Wacha is only a year removed from a strong 2015 in which he won 17 games and posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 83 BPV during his age-24 season. Losing time to shoulder injuries in two of the last three years elevates his risk, but giving Wacha another shot at the rotation seems to make more sense from...
