The Brewers rotation likely has a two slots up for grabs in spring training. Wily Peralta (RHP, MIL) earned himself the third starter role with an excellent finish to 2016 (11% SwK, 3.66 xERA, 3.2 Cmd over his last 10 starts) following his mid-season demotion to Triple-A. Chase Anderson (RHP, MIL), Matt Garza (RHP, MIL), and Jimmy Nelson (RHP, MIL) are main contenders for the final two spots in the rotation.

Anderson and Nelson are both in their late 20s and have similar statistical profiles as back-of-rotation starters. So similar, in fact, that Anderson is the fourth most statistically similar pitcher to Nelson according to Baseball-Reference.
