In 102 AB since Eric Thames (1B/OF, MIL) injured his thumb on April 24, Brewers first baseman Jesús Aguilar (1B, MIL) has made the most of his first extended opportunity to play almost every day in the majors, hitting eight HR with an .871 OPS. He’s even handled right-handed pitching well, hitting seven of his first nine homers of the season against them while posting a 72% ct% that is an improvement over last season’s 65% ct% vs. RHP. With Thames recently cleared to resume hitting and a couple of weeks away from returning to Milwaukee, first base is about to become a crowded situation in Milwaukee.
