With hopes of a Wild Card berth all but faded away, the Pirates find themselves in a position to be a seller at the upcoming trade deadline. They lack major trade chips after trading Gerrit Cole and Andrew McCutchen this past January. But, in Jordy Mercer (SS, PIT) and Josh Harrison (2B/3B, PIT), the team has possible trade pieces who could help to bolster their farm system nonetheless.

Mercer is a free agent at the end of the year and could be a useful utility infielder to a contender with his solid defense and okay bat. Opening up shortstop in Pittsburgh would allow the club to hand the starting job over to Kevin Newman (2B/SS, PIT), who has a .300/.342/.383 slash line to go along with 21 SB through 467 AB in...
