The lackluster performance of Jonathan Villar (2B/SS/3B, MIL) has been one of the club’s only offensive disappointments this season. Villar’s struggles were covered in PT Tomorrow on May 27 and the story is largely the same over a month later: an inability to reach get on base is limiting his chances at SBs, even after he has returned from a DL stint due to a back injury. Villar’s .276 OBP is 7th worst among qualified batters.

Eric Sogard (2B, MIL) saw the majority of at-bats at second base during Villar’s time on the disabled list and manager Craig Counsell stated he would receive regular playing time even after Villar was activated on June 27.
