We discussed the shaky skills of closer Trevor Rosenthal (RHP, STL) back in late May, when he was still boasting a shiny 2.25 ERA. Since then, he's continued to be excessively wild, and it's begun to catch up with him. In back-to-back appearances recently, he allowed seven of the eight batters he faced to reach base, but then rebounded with a couple saves against the Cubs, allowing a couple of base runners in each game.

Dating back to May 7, a span of 19 appearances and 15 innings, Rosenthal has walked 17 batters, and served up 10 earned runs and a composite .305/.474/.424 line, albeit with a 44 percent hit rate. He's 14 for 16 in save chances, so the job is still his, but Manager Mike Matheny turned to Kevin...
