After the additions of Jonathan Villar (SS/3B, CHC) and Andrelton Simmons (SS, CHC), the Cubs boast solid depth across the majority of their infield. The exception might be first base, where Frank Schwindel (1B, CHC) who was a league-winner across the final two months of the season, is currently penciled in as the starter. However, as was noted in both his Baseball Forecaster blurb and a recent Facts/Flukes column written by Brandon Kruse, there is reason to be cautious, with red flags including the fact that Schwindel lacked quality batted balls to support his results and the fact that he was an age-30 breakout.
