As we’ve seen the Pirates lean fully into a youth revolution, Ke’Bryan Hayes (3B, PIT) has been the most consistent presence in the lineup along with Bryan Reynolds (OF, PIT). For the first two months of the season, Hayes has hit primarily third in the order against right-handed pitching. While his fit there was a necessity based on a lack of other options, Hayes high contact rate (78 ct%), walk rate (11 BB%), and speed (6 SB) are all more of a natural fit in the leadoff spot. 

We’ve seen that shift of late, as Hayes has led off each of the team’s last five games. The implications for fantasy purposes are clear. Across 149 plate appearances hitting atop the order, Hayes has averaged a stolen base every 18.6 plate...
