Following his well-documented 2020 struggles, Ohtani is healthy again and hinting early at what an offensive force he can be over a full season, posting a .999 OPS over 55 AB (4 HR, 2 SB) through Tuesday, April 20, despite just two walks to date. Small sample, but Ohtani leads all MLB hitters with a 17.2% barrels per PA and is firmly among MLB exit velocity leaders, both reflected in his 37% h% and 116 HctX. And a wannabe postseason contender with early injuries that have weakened the lineup needs his bat in there as often as possible, particularly for as long as a declining
