Regardless of when the regular season actually begins, the club still seems to have some roster/lineup construction to do, notably in the OF—where all the starters from Opening Day last July were free agents to begin the offseason. Coming off a fine two-plus months in 2020, Kyle Tucker's (OF, HOU) presence mitigated the potential loss of George Springer Michael Brantley and Josh Reddick (OF, HOU)—and just prior to this piece, the club reportedly re-signed Brantley. But following another mediocre season (.693 OPS, 4 HR over 188 AB) that did nothing to reverse poorly trending power and HctX, the 34-year-old Reddick seems unlikely to return, and Springer has signed on in TOR.
