The 2B AB here are up for grabs, but a rebuilding club has reasons to stick with the current options. Shed Long (2B, SEA) began 2020 spring training as the primary, but a dreadful .171/.242/.291 line over 117 AB has left this spot wide open a year later. Apart from a 9% bb%, Long's peripherals took an across-the-board hit, notably a 64% GB% and 76 HctX that kept a lid on everything. One mitigating factor became apparent in early September: A stress reaction in his right shin that had plagued Long since mid-summer ended in surgery later that month. Prior to 2020 while working around frequent minor league injuries, Long had flashed average power and decent on-base / base-running skills, the combination of which hinted at...
