A tough last week that included two losses to SEA and significant injuries to both Matt Olson (1B, OAK) and near-ready SP prospect Jesús Luzardo (LHP, OAK)—shelving both for six weeks at the very least—is already offering clues as to the future. The first was the subsequent announcement that Franklin Barreto (2B, OAK) would take over Olson's roster spot and get extended 2B time while Mark Canha and second baseman Jurickson Profar share 1B duties.
