PT TOMORROW: AL West—Life after Lowrie

Houston Astros

Following a dismal start, a revitalized offense is suddenly fourth in AL scoring and the big reason why HOU had won 10 straight entering Monday. But despite a league-leading AL HR total, it wasn't the big swing-and-miss HR hitters leading the charge. Per usual, Jose Altuve (.361, 9 BB, 9 SB through 108 AB) is in the middle of everything. But a surge from now-DL'd Jed Lowrie (SS, HOU)—4 HR, 12 BB, .999 OPS—was a huge factor, as is what looks like a breakthrough from Jake Marisnick (.382 BA, 9 SB, 85% ct%, 142 PX). Still, with Lowrie now out until sometime after the All-Star break, and both Altuve and Marisnick due for some pullback, the Astros will eventually need help if they want to avoid more of the HR-or-nothing...
