The rebuilding A's will no doubt attempt to replicate their in-season 2018 trade efforts that netted current closer Blake Treinen and other prospects that should be helpful by 2019. The most obvious trade candidate is free-agent-to-be Jed Lowrie (2B, OAK), who has not only stayed healthy, but also off to his best MLB start ever—.294/.358/.479, including 9 HR through 238 AB. Aside from a 35% h%, Lowrie's early effort has good peripheral support, including a 119 HctX and 112/133 Px/xPX. Among the negatives are Lowrie's age (34), injury history, and some significant regression following a torrid April (.343 BA through his first 103 AB). But this won't deter the A's from trying to move him for future value—or even for some...
