An offensive surge from a team suddenly seventh in MLB scoring had the A's just a game under .500 entering Tuesday. Some of the fuel has come unexpectedly from the CF spot, where Mark Canha (OF, OAK) has continued to produce, with some recent help from utility man Chad Pinder (OF/SS, OAK). Canha has been an absolute catalyst through a small sample (52 AB), posting a .953 OPS and four HR that enjoy broad peripheral support, at least for now. Canha's 131 HctX is far and away better than anything he's done at the MLB level to date, as is a .284 xBA. Real improvements like this from 29-year-olds are rare—though recent hitter adjustments and results suggest not as much as in the past. And OAK is likely to ride this hot hand...
