PT TOMORROW: AL West—Burns adds to OAK depth

OAK continues to show its positional depth with the pre-season emergence of Billy Burns (OF, OAK) who GM Billy Beane may have stolen from WAS this past off-season in return for Jerry Blevins. Burns is a terrific athlete with plus-plus speed whose prospect status has apparently been marked down due to non-existent power. But Burns isn't just one of the fastest players in the minors; he's also a premium base-stealer, as seen in the 74/7 SB/CS he recorded between High-A and Double-A in 2013. Burn also made contact at an 88% clip last year, while posting a 14% bb%. His 72/54 BB/K over 444 AB is outstanding at any level, and he has a career .311 BA over 945 minor league AB.
