As noted here last Thursday, the operative word for the infield situation was "fluid". It was even more so than we knew then, and recent moves haven't really resolved that fluidity, kicking off with the acquisition of Eduardo Escobar (3B/2B, LAA) from the Mets. 3B Anthony Rendon's never-ending IL stints—the latest being a wrist problem of unknown duration—and the demotion of struggling 1B Jared Walsh (.119 BA, one HR, 61% ct% through 78 PA) back to AAA-Salt Lake City seemed to give plenty of AB to the 34-year-old Escobar, who can play all over the infield and was 5-for-11 early with his new club. But then the Angels also acquired corner infielder 34-year-old Mike Moustakas from COL over the weekend.
