There's been little news to date out of Anaheim regarding Shohei Ohtani's (RHP, LAA) status on his non-pitching days. But the Angels have reaffirmed that they are leaning toward utilizing a six-man rotation, with Ohtani's MLB introduction in mind. Ohtani's never pitched more than 161 professional innings in a season, and the 23-year-old was limited to just 25 IP in 2017 due to an ankle injury. Ohtani has also received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection in his throwing elbow this past October to treat what has been called a first-degree (i.e., mild) UCL sprain.

Obviously part of the intent here is to manage Ohtani's workload, but he's not the only LAA starter who requires kid gloves. Seemingly able to avoid Tommy...
