A series of starts in which Jake Odorizzi (RHP, TAM) needed more than 100 pitches just to get through six innings (or less) seemingly caught up to him June 2, when he expended 77 pitches and had only seven outs to show for it by the time he exited, having given up 3 ER and a pair of home runs.

There has been no suggestion that Odorizzi is continuing to deal with the lingering effects of the hamstring injury that sidelined him for two weeks at the end of April, or that he won’t be given every chance to work through his struggles. However, his FpK since his return tells a similar tale of a pitcher struggling with his command and control.
