PT TOMORROW: AL East—Holt’s hit rate at it again

For the second straight year, Brock Holt (3B, BOS) is turning heads—including his manager’s—with his early season performance at the plate. Holt has 11 hits in his first 19 at-bats while playing four different positions (2B, SS, 3B, CF).

It remains to be seen how John Farrell will continue to find anything resembling regular at-bats for Holt, but if there is a current soft spot in the Red Sox otherwise robust lineup, it may be right field, where starter Shane Victorino (OF, BOS) is off to a slow start (3-for-24) and is currently dealing with sore ribs after crashing into an outfield wall April 17. His heir apparent, Rusney Castillo (OF, BOS), is on the minor-league disabled list with a shoulder injury. While this space...
