PT TOMORROW: AL East—Glove may burst Colabello’s bubble

Those who don’t believe defense counts in fantasy baseball may soon get another counter-example in the form of Chris Colabello (OF, TOR). Aided by a 42% hit rate, Colabello has been an asset with the bat since his early May promotion. However, one local scribe recently wrote that Colabello is “clearly nervous” in the one position at which playing time is readily available: left field.

In perhaps a sign of things to come, Ezequiel Carrera (OF, TOR) got the nod over Colabello in the second game post-break, though Carerra’s BA has slipped back towards his .230 xBA over the past month. Danny Valencia (3B, TOR) has also seen time at the position and could provide comparable production to Colabello against left-handed...
