While nothing has been confirmed, it seems as if the stint of Mike Wright (RHP, BAL) as the fill-in for the injured Miguel González (RHP, BAL) may be short lived.

Reading between the lines of the coy commentary of manager Buck Showalter, it certainly seems like Kevin Gausman (RHP, BAL) will be in the Orioles rotation shortly. Reportedly, his upcoming rehab start will be kept to two innings by design to ensure his availability by week’s end, with local scribes convinced the rotation is his ultimate destination.

There’s a danger in reading too much into Gausman’s 12 IP of bullpen work, but coupled with his strong finish to 2014, he seems poised for his long-awaited breakout. He has struck out better than a batter an...
