While there may be little reason for optimism about the chances Mike Bolsinger (RHP, TOR) will succeed while filling in for Francisco Liriano (LHP, TOR), the bigger impact from Liriano’s injury may be that it should prolong the stay in the rotation of Joe Biagini (RHP, TOR).

Biagini stretched out to 68 pitches on May 12, which he converted into five scoreless innings to earn his first win as a starter. In theory, Biagini now needs both Liriano and J.A. Happ (LHP, TOR) to return before they will even think about bumping him from the rotation.

But the way Biagini is pitching, perhaps he can even get the Jays to reassess whether he should return to the bullpen at all. In his two starts, Biagini has done a good job getting...
