PT TOMORROW: AL East—Per GM, Justus to be served with NYY

With C.C. Sabathia (LHP, NYY) missing his latest start and instead hitting the disabled list for what he has said will be a short stay, manager Aaron Boone bypassed Sonny Gray (RHP, NYY) and instead gave the start to Luis Cessa (RHP, NYY). The decision did not work out well (3.1 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 2 BB, 4 K), and Cessa soon found himself headed back to AAA-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Also, the third start of Lance Lynn (RHP, NYY) as a Yankee August 17 went worse than the first two (4 IP, 5 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 5 K).

Gray, meanwhile, has not exactly allayed all fears that he has put his struggles behind him, giving up two earned runs and five hits in an inning of work August 12 before having a slightly more successfully outing three...
