We now may have a bit clearer picture of how the playing time will be parceled out in light of the 11th-hour spring training trade that sent Kendrys Morales (DH, OAK) out to Oakland.

On opening day, Rowdy Tellez (1B, TOR) got the start at designated hitter, while Teoscar Hernández (OF, TOR) not only got the start in left field but hit third in the order, providing further evidence of a commitment to giving Hernandez a steady diet of at-bats, and as a run producer.

Meanwhile, fellow right-handed hitter Randal Grichuk (OF, TOR) started in right field, despite the fact that the Blue Jays were facing a right-handed starter, the Tigers’ Jordan Zimmerman (RHP, DET).
