PT TOMORROW: AL Central—Tigers sorting out their post-trade holes

The Tigers made one of the biggest moves during the Trading Deadline frenzy last week by acquiring David Price (LHP, DET) from the Rays. Drew Smyly (LHP, TAM) went to the Rays as part of the deal, and Austin Jackson (OF, SEA) was shipped to the Mariners. Price will slip into the rotation slot vacated by the inconsistent Smyly. Price is an elite pitcher moving to a much better team. Implications on his performance were covered in PT Today here.

With Jackson’s departure, Rajai Davis (OF, DET) will be given a chance to be the everyday center fielder. If Davis holds the job he could be a major contributor in SB the rest of the way. He is already among the league leaders with 25 with part-time AB. The challenge for Davis is to...
