Amed Rosario (SS/OF, CLE; pictured above) has worked his way into nearly everyday playing time, starting 12 of the last 14 games (through April 21), split between center field (six games) and shortstop (six games). Thus far, all of Rosario’s starts at shortstop have been against left-handed pitching, where his career .801 OPS (in a much larger sample of 406 AB) sends the LH-batting Andrés Giménez (SS, CLE) to the bench, whose shorter career has only seen 32 AB against lefties. However, Giménez’s 2021-21 results against right-handed pitching (.767 OPS in 119 AB) are keeping him in the lineup for those matchups.
