PT TOMORROW: AL Central—Bauer displaces Salazar in CLE rotation

Danny Salazar (RHP, CLE) was sent down and Trevor Bauer (RHP, CLE) was called up to take his rotation spot. Tom Kephart analyzed Salazar’s issues in this PT Today column. In previous call-ups Bauer struggled with his control. His Ctl in nine career major league starts is 7.1. Bauer also had problems with his control throughout his minor league career. Going into this season his career minor league Ctl was 4.8. This season Bauer has a 2.7 Ctl in 46 Triple-A innings. If Bauer can translate this improved control to the major league level, he could not only stick in the rotation, but be a strong contributor to both the Indians and fantasy teams.
