Though the descriptor will never apply to him on the basepaths, fast-moving Andrew Vaughn (1B, CHW) continues his climb through the White Sox minor league system and could well arrive on the South Side sometime in 2020. The third overall pick in the 2019 draft and Golden Spikes Award winner out of UC Berkeley has yet to approach the power he demonstrated in college, but his slash line as a professional .298/.408/.483 in an admittedly small sample of 151 ABs bodes well as he gets more reps. If he’s ready for the bigs out of spring training, that could mean the end of José Abreu’s (1B, CHW) tenure with the club as he is set to become a free agent after the 2019 season.
