The adage “anything can happen in a short series”, could be applied for the 2020 season as a whole, but it creates a very interesting situation for a 60-game (or fewer) season for a Royals pitching staff, which might be more challenging to opponents than originally thought. 

The four primary starters -- Jakob Junis (RHP, KC), Brad Keller (RHP, KC), Danny Duffy (LHP, KC) and Michael Montgomery (LHP, KC) -- offer skills that are slightly below league average. However, a strengthened bullpen and the possible presence of several top KC pitching prospects on the taxi squad may enable manager Mike Matheny (pictured above with Ian Kennedy) to employ a quicker hook on said starters (and whoever ends up filling the fifth...
