NL West: The Young and the Restless – Can Bryce Eldridge and Company Find Paths to Meaningful Playing Time in 2026?

This week’s NL West focus will be on some up-and-coming young guys. Fans of each team are waiting for prospects to become steady contributors in the show, but first, playing time paths must open.

 

San Francisco Giants

Even with the recent signing of Luis Arraez and last season’s acquisition of Rafael Devers, there is room in the Giants lineup for a power bat the likes of Bryce Eldridge. San Francisco is coming off a disappointing season that eventually led to a new manager hire, and the team’s lack of HRs couldn’t have helped as the Giants finished in the bottom half of the league in total HRs, 101 behind the MLB-leading Yankees.

Eldridge didn’t show much in his brief September call up, but no one doubts his pedigree. Baseball...
