While taking a moment to acknowledge the rib injury to Alec Bohm and how the team will likely use a combination of Edmundo Sosa and Otto Kemp to fill in for now, we’ll keep our focus on the future and look at the state of the Phillies’ most pronounced need as we hurtle towards the trade deadline: the bullpen.

The Phire Brigade collectively has ranked middle of the road in strikeouts (15th in K/9) and walks (11th in BB/9) but has struggled mightily with results (23rd in both WHIP & ERA). Jordan Romano has suffered through a season so nightmarish, even vintage Freddy Krueger wouldn’t partake (7.08 ERA, 1.49 WHIP). At this point, Romano would surely kill to have something closer to his 4.26 xERA, and even that...
