If you were just looking at wins and losses it might be tempting to say that the Cubs have righted the ship on the North Side of Chicago. In reality, they appear to have figured out a way to piece together an 11-9 June despite an injured list that would be a pretty good MLB pitching roster, with a couple of depth pieces in the minors. With Ben Brown and Edward Cabrera joining that injured list this week, the Cubs made the only move possible if they want to try and keep a manageable seven game deficit against the division-leading Brewers, who they just happen to have three games against beginning Friday evening in Milwaukee.
