A recent injury to Cody Bellinger (1B/OF, CHC) and the ongoing absence of Mike Tauchman (OF, CHC) have partially revealed the team’s plans at third base. With the shortage of options in the outfield, the team has been forced to use Seiya Suzuki (OF, CHC) as a right fielder. In turn, Christopher Morel (3B/OF, CHC) has shifted from third base to DH. The move for Morel was long needed. He has committed nine errors at third base, has -8 defensive runs saved, and a first percentile outs above average (-11 outs above average). If Morel has a future as a regular with the Cubs, it won’t be at third base.
