The Chicago White Sox have been quietly gathering pitchers off the scrap heap: Chris Murphy via trade, Ryan Rolison off waivers, and both Alexander Alberto and Jedixson Paez through the Rule 5 draft. They also selected the contracts of two of their minor league pitchers, Duncan Davitt and Tanner McDougal. On the surface, most of those moves seem designed to accrue innings eaters for a team that isn’t trying to be competitive. Alberto, McDougal, and Paez do have some bat-missing upside and could find their way to high leverage spots, but none of them played higher than AA last year.
So that would appear to leave the White Sox with the same murky closer situation as last year, with Jordan Leasure and
